ALEXANDER MICHAEL DODSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Part of the procceds from Alexander’s Run will be used to support the Alexander Michael Dodson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Since 2010, Alexander's Scholarship Fund has helped to send 42 children to the Stuart Country Day Summer STARS program. The 4-week camp is open to second to sixth graders and includes instruction on the humanities, science and math. The Summer Stars program is only open to Trenton residents and is designed to strengthen Stuart's ties with the community through service to children.

“Summer Stars offers such an important outlet for children every summer.  From musical instruction to academic enrichment, it provides a strong foundation for the school year. We were so pleased and overwhelmed that the Alexander Michael Dodson Memorial Scholarship Fund chose to support the Summer Stars program this year." said Dr. Patty Fagin, new Head of School at Stuart Country Day School.

SUDDEN UNEXPLAINED DEATH IN CHILDHOOD FOUNDATION

Sudden Unexplained Death In Childhood (SUDC) is the sudden and unexpected death of a child over the age of 12 months, which remains unexplained after a thorough case investigation is conducted. (Krous et al 2005)

Soon after  Alexander passed, we found out about the SUDC Foundation.  Being able to talk to others who had experienced SUDC helped us not feel so alone.

The Sudden Unexplained Death In Childhood (SUDC) Foundation (formerly The SUDC Program created in September 2001) is tasked with providing a centralized resource for information, support and advocacy. It is a registered 501(c)(3) that serves families and professionals affected by the tragedy of SUDC, and promotes awareness of SUDC in communities.

The mission of the SUDC Foundation is to:
Provide a centralized resource for the sudden and unexpected death of a child.
Fund crucial research.
Provide support services.
Share accurate information with families and professionals.
Improve public awareness and understanding of SUDC.
Advocate for all issues related to SUDC.
Raise charitable donations to meet the many needs of the SUDC community.
